A short-form promotional video created for a Czech design and development studio. The reel was designed for use in Facebook and Instagram Ads, targeting a Czech-speaking audience and aiming to showcase the studio's expertise in UI/UX design and web development through a personal expert’s message.
Problem
The studio had no prior experience with dynamic social video content and needed a fast, engaging, and trust-building promotional format. However, the footage lacked visual dynamics, brand expression, and the engaging pacing required for modern ad formats on platforms like Instagram. The raw material needed to be turned into a visually appealing and fast-paced reel that could capture attention in seconds, while still looking professional and on-brand.
Goal
To produce a 30-second expert promo reel from raw footage, aligned with the studio’s brand identity, featuring natural but polished delivery, clean pacing, and dynamic visual and audio hooks. The final video needed to be suitable for paid advertising and optimized for vertical mobile-first platforms like Instagram and Facebook.

Video editor and motion designer responsible for the full post-production cycle. I handled everything from editing and sound design to animated typography and compositing, transforming raw iPhone footage into a dynamic, brand-aligned promotional reel tailored for social media platforms.
Responsibilities
Editing and structuring the footage, selecting the best takes, applying color correction and facial masking, animating branded captions, adding smooth transitions and hooks, and compositing background mockups. Ensured the reel was visually dynamic and stayed true to the client’s branding.

To enhance clarity and visual engagement, I implemented custom animated subtitles throughout the video. The animations featured smooth opacity fades with blur, upward motion reveals, and branded underline effects to emphasize key phrases. These subtle yet expressive techniques aligned with the studio’s identity and improved information delivery.

To keep the video dynamic and visually engaging throughout, I combined smooth footage cuts with subtle camera movements and stylized transitions. In places where direct edits didn’t work, I used light-burn film effects to maintain rhythm and flow. This approach helped avoid visual monotony and kept the narrative moving naturally.

Layered composition with masking
This section showcases how I used precise masking to place visuals behind the main subject, creating a sense of depth. Two mockups were composited seamlessly into the background, enhanced by a subtle zoom-in effect to emphasize focus and keep the frame dynamic.

The original footage was shot well, but during editing, it appeared flat and desaturated. The colors lacked vibrancy, which reduced the overall visual impact and made the video feel less engaging.

After color grading, the footage regained its richness and contrast. The colors were adjusted to better reflect the natural tones of the subject, resulting in a more vibrant, polished, and visually appealing final look.

My learnings
This project sharpened my skills in working with raw materials under time constraints. I learned to stay flexible, solve technical challenges quickly, and maintain visual quality while adapting to an existing brand style.
